How It Works
Every year, over 3 billion tonnes of CO₂ are released from the burning and decomposition of unused agricultural and timber waste.
Graphyte’s Carbon Casting
Permanently reduces these carbon emmissions
Graphyte converts waste biomass into durable carbon storage, turning an environmental liability into climate value.
At Graphyte, we believe we need a solution that actually works— simple, efficient, and deployable now. This means:
Low
capital
costs
High upfront investment has prevented deployment of most biomass solutions.
Graphyte uses low-cost, off-the-shelf equipment, making projects economically viable from the start.
Simple
handling
systems
Variable biomass feedstocks have created significant operational challenges for complex processes.
Graphyte’s simple approach handles diverse materials efficiently without extensive preprocessing or sophisticated equipment.
High
carbon
efficiency
Energy-intensive processes and carbon losses have limited the amount of CO₂ removed per unit of biomass.
Graphyte maximizes carbon removal through low-energy drying and minimal processing, ensuring we capture the most carbon from every ton of material.
Carbon casting has a 6-step process:
Step 1
Collect
Waste Biomass
We use by-products of the timber and agriculture industries, which would otherwise be burned or left to decompose
Step 2
Dry Biomass
We dry this biomass, to eliminate microbes and the water they depend on, stopping decomposition
Step 3
Condense
The inert biomass is condensed into dense pellets, enabling effective storage
Step 4
encapsulate
Carbon blocks are protected by an environmentally-safe, impermeable barrier to ensure that decomposition does not restart
Step 5
Permenantly
Store
Inert Biomass is stored in state-of-the-art sites with sensors and tracers, enabling robust long-term monitoring. Storage sites can then be used as solar farms, working agricultural land, or similar uses
Step 6
Monitor,
Verify, Report
Graphyte has partnered with Cula, the industry leading DMRV (Digital Measurement, Reporting and Verification) provider. In conjunction with our proprietary real-time MRV systems we provide constant, real-time monitoring that verifies the durability of our carbon sequestration.
